Brent Ervin-Eickhoff is an award-winning filmmaker, stage director, and writer based in Chicago, IL.

Brent’s films have screened at the Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art, and as official selections of TiltShift, Silicon Beach Film Festival, San Francisco Interneational New Concept Film Festival, Florence International Film Festival, Iconic Images Film Festival, Symbiotic Film Festival, Frog Baby Film Festival, and Indianapolis 48 Hour Film Project, among others.

He has worked with Court Theatre, A Red Orchid Theatre, Silk Road Rising, Facility Theatre, BoHo Theatre, Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co., The Public House Theatre, and other companies in a variety of artistic and administrative roles. He was an Associate Artist and Resident Director with The Barrens Theatre Co., worked with Bramble Theatre as Managing Director, and is a board member of The Passage Theatre.

Brent served as Co-Artistic Director and later Managing Director of Blue Goose Theatre Ensemble, of which he was a founding member. His productions of Herculaneum and Bison? Bison. Bison! with Blue Goose were praised by critics and audiences. Bison? Bison. Bison! was selected and performed as part of Chicago’s Night Out in the Parks Initiative.

His play Puget Sound was workshopped as part of A Red Orchid Theatre’s Incubator Program in 2017. Brent’s play My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine was produced by The Barrens Theatre Co. as part of their “Ghost Stories” series, and his play Big Sin was produced as part of their “Out of Time” series. He also wrote the piece Somnum Purgatorum for The Barrens’ experiential event, “After.” Brent was selected to participate in The New Colony’s 2019 Writers’ Room. He graduated from Ball State University Magna Cum Laude with degrees in Directing and Theatre Education, as well as Ball State’s prestigious Academic Honors in Writing. Brent is currently pursuing his MFA in Film & Television Directing from DePaul University’s School of Cinematic Arts.
